Mexican culture is everywhere in Puerto Vallarta. Mariachis, traditional bands of strolling troubadours, entertain on the streets almost every hour of the night.

The center of nightlife is the downtown malecon (beachfront walk) where some of the city’s best restaurants specialize in fine food and then bring on the bands or the canned music in the late evening. There is music for everyone – Reggae, hard rock, flamenco, ballroom music, pop, jazz – even folk music can be heard in Vallarta’s more bohemian haunts.
